Prevention is key to having a weed free lawn. At Grass Cat, we strategically apply pre-emergent at certain times of the year. This creates a barrier in the soil to prevent the unwanted weeds from germinating and sprouting up in the first place. However,
should weeds find their way into your lawn, we target them using a selective weed control.

Here especially in North Texas, our turf grass and roots can become food or homes to lawn damaging and nuisance pests such as the White grub, Bermuda mites, Chinch bugs, fire ants, and chiggers.

Soil testing
Knowing the pH of your soil is crucial in having a healthy thriving lawn. A correct pH range helps nutrient up-take. Your lawn lives off of macronutrients (N-P-K) and micronutrients like iron and zinc that are found in the soil. Fire ant prevention
Fire ant control for up to a full year! We can prevent imported fire ants in your lawn and landscape for 12 months. This treatment is by far the best solution in combating fire ants long term. Enjoy playing in the yard or working in your garden without the worry of getting bit by those nasty ants!

PGR (Plant growth regulator)

A Plant Growth Regulator, when applied to a lawn, reduces the vertical growth of the turf. Growth of your grass can be slowed by up to 50% depending on your variety of grass and mowing habits. This can mean not only a less frequent need to mow and more time with your family, but also less time spent collecting and removing clippings and helping prevent a heavy thatch layer. PGR also increases the lateral growth of turf while promoting better root health of the plant. Helps create turf density, a stronger root and canopy system. PGR's can slow plant growth for 4 to 6 weeks before reapplication is needed. This is how golf courses are able to maintain their turf grasses in such demanding conditions.
Aeration
Core aerating the lawn to help relieve soil compaction as well as helping provide more oxygen, water, and nutrients down deeper into the soil.
Lawn Leveling
Using a high quality screened sand, we evenly spread a layer across the grass to help fill in mower ruts, smoothen bumps, and fill divots to create a level lawn. This will also allow you to mow at a lower height without scalping spots in the lawn.
