Not a problem. We will complete the application and send you a service report with any details and information with your lawn and the treatment.
We will try to contact you while on the property. If we are unable to get into the backyard, we will treat the front and side yards and return when we are able to gain access to the backyard at your convenience.
The products we use are regulated by the EPA and are applied according to label by trained and licensed professionals to ensure safety. Once the application is dry, it is completely safe to be on the lawn or treated area. Depending on the current climate, treatments and products applied generally dry within 30 minutes to two hours.*
When having an annual soil analysis done, your pH and nutrient levels in the turf are then monitored and kept up with . This assists in customizing annual fertilizer programs to meet the specific needs of your unique lawn and landscape. Depending on your soils condition, this can offer corrective action to optimize the uptake of nutrients. Knowing what exactly your soil and lawn needs also prevents the potential for certain lawn fungus and diseases.
We will take a sample of your yard’s soil and send it to a lab to be tested for nutrients like nitrogen, phosphorous, calcium, and potassium. With this, we will know exactly what your grass wants. Also, we make sure not to overfertilize in the future. Over fertilizing can lead to damage in the form of burned-out roots, uneven growth, and brown patches. Grass Cat recommends annual soil testing!
You will receive instructions after each application. Generally, fertilizer, pre-emergents, and certain insecticides and fungicides need to be watered in shortly after application for best results. We will provide the after care instructions during each treatment. Of course, feel free to reach out to us with any specific questions!
While it is best to not have your lawn mowed shortly after a treatment, we understand schedules can conflict at times.
It is acceptable for your lawn to be mowed immediately after most treatments. However, for best results, it is advised that when Grass Cat applies liquid pre-emergent, the application should be watered in with at least .5 inch of natural rainfall or lawn irrigation before the grass is mowed. When pre-emergent are applied, the product is sprayed onto the lawn which settles on the grass blades. When watered, the product is then activated and settles on the soil base to create a barrier that prevents weeds. Pre-emergent should be watered into the soil before any disturbance to the grass blades to achieve maximum results.
Post emergent weed control, which targets weeds already present in your lawn only require 24 hours to be completely absorbed into the plant. Should your lawn be mowed after that time frame, it will not negatively affect the application.
Any other application besides our pre-emergent and standard weed control will be fine being mowed right after application.
Our lawn care program consists of 8 annual applications. Depending on your last service, and the current climate, we try to keep applications between 4-6 weeks. Our success is greatly achieved by our timely applications. You can always request us to come back out in between scheduled applications to address any potential concerns regarding your lawn.
